Rather a stark contrast from the Flint we use to know.
We see in the past he cared for his Ember, and now we see him almost looking like he was starving underneath the shadow he enclosed himself in. Wasting away both physically and mentally.

that’s a concerning number of scars on his arm… are they from before or after his demonization, I wonder?
I think its after, we seen how his mnid got twisted after the ritual, perhaps on some moments of clarity he regret his decisions and tried to hurt himself? Because we don’t see the scars on the memories.
Blood – specifically your own blood – is a catalyst for Demon rituals. Look back to page 12: it’s self-harm, sure, but not out of self-hatred. He does it to offer his god power. And from the amount of scars on his hands and arm, you can tell he’s done that ritual… a lot.
Something tells me she might develop the ability to purify demonization, considering how hard she has been fighting against it all this time.
Not exactly purify, but i would say dispell or control since both sides are not sync, we don’t hear the voice of her demon side anymore, so i would assume they are one now and by having that balance she can dispell the creature.

It’s scenes like this that make me absolutely LOVE this comic. I wasn’t expecting this, yet it seems so fitting.
Also, I love the detail of having young Ember’s hair in the crescent shape like in the older comic pages. Excellent work, w0lfmare.

Did she just… did she just straight up strip the voices blessing from him? Ember can absord and destroy dark magic like we saw with the fiends, so is that the same effect on a creature with a soul?
Also it’s a neat detail that flint looks kinda emaciated being able to see his ribs an all.
Ember is using a curse removing spell that she learned from Elane. Elane explained that her spell only drains dark energy, it does not stop the soul from making more dark energy. I am guessing that, unless Flint’s transformation into a shade is the effect of a spell that can be broken, he will turn back after Ember stops draining him. Removing his dark didn’t change his nature, which is why he still has red eyes, but it seems to have reduced its effects on his mind.
That does make more sense. Still brings up the question of if he can still use dark magic under this effect? Would it work for other sources of power aswell? Can’t wait to see where this goes
