Well if Echo is following you perhaps that’ll keep him out of trouble, and keep him from raiding any Tennin villages. There are some other benefits having Echo around take the demon shadowing Ember that she has no idea about Echo might notice him as I assume he is more acute to allies of the voice in the crowds. Hopefully there aren’t any Tennin that may have survive a raid Echo was a part of and can recognize him. Considering how he can walk in towns freely to scout out the place for a raid he probably doesn’t have to worry about such a scenario.
On the flip side Ember has been struggling with her condition and probably don’t want Echo to see her like that. It would just give him extra reasons to try and get Ember to go back to Brairwood. I am guessing the revelation that Echo may have done some questionable things is probably why Ember would rather not travel with Echo. In addition i’m sure Echo will do his best to keep Ember safe, but helping Ember find her place in Tennin society isn’t exactly his goal in fact it’s the exact opposite.
Come to think of it, would Echo read as demon, or enough so to alarm readers?
Wow. He is de-ter-mined.
