Just a heads up, there won’t be a regular update next week! Instead I’ll be sharing the cover of Bloodline’s first book! If you’re interested in getting a book, be sure to check the site first thing Tuesday. In addition to regular preorders I’ll be selling signed copies and numbered copies with a quick sketch inside, both of which are a good idea to get early.
Enjoy the page!
Mence seems to have a “what are you doing” look. Either he thinks this is going too far or he is worried about Ken, and the attitude of their reader to Ken. It’s probably a combination of not caring about a comrade that had a bad fall, and toying with Ember a bit too much when they can just grab her in her current state easily instead of letting her slowly escape.
Also judging by the concern look on the guy pushing the wheel barrel; if any of the guards actually did some thinking they shouldn’t come off as too antagonistic especially in public. The last thing they need are whispers coming from the citizens, which may reach the higher ups and it wouldn’t be Elane they should be concern about causing them to lose their position as a garrison.
Also it seems that Elane must have visited the library Ember went to the other day, as Ember never did tell Elane her name, but she did write it down when she was checking in. Elane must have gotten some info on what Ember might be up to assuming she is able to check with the librarian on what books Ember checked out. Although what is more concerning is how much does information do the Tennin have on the Memeelis name. As Ember did sign in with her full real name instead of an alias. Assuming the Memeelis line is well known in demon society I wouldn’t be surprised if they exist in Tennin records.
Yeah how Does he know her name? I almost thought he was in league with the demons there.
You ALMOST thought league-with-demons? I am still right on the fence on that one. The healer doesn’t seem to be an official, and official policy on people who detect as demons tends to favour swift resolutions… The garrison is probably not filled with the most disciplined soldiers, and the healer may have more say than I think, but nothing here is clearing me up on these people’s affiliations.
An entire garrison filled with Tenin soldiers, who secretly work with and worship the Voice, now THAT isn’t creepy at all!
Mence really wants to say “I want to see to something neat, show me.” But now it looks like the time has passed with a public scene underway.
I am looking for the kitty stall but cannot find it in the crowd. I expected Checkov’s Cat but instead I am getting Schroedinger’s gun…
Sorry, what?
