Ugh, don’t remind me of that stupid story. Regardless of whether the clothes existed, the Emperor would have been appearing to be naked to a significant proportion of the population. Suggesting such is sufficient to have the tailor killed(In context. I am not actually advocating homicidal tyrants.) and if the emperor actually believed in the clothes, then their usage might spread, which would have been a constant threat to reveal the emperor’s shortfalls should they, say, complain about open curtains that were actually closed but invisible. The only moral of that story is that con-artists can be so persuasive that they can effectively deactivate your ability to reason, necessitating a trained distrust of persuasiveness. Which brings us back to Denrim and Elane…
Well Elane, and Denrim does have quite a complicated relationship. So Elane is pretty much currently dating Denrim, but with a love hate relationship. Maybe Denrim might take it easy on Ember assuming they run into each other again in the future. Who knows maybe Ember might have an incident and Elane might request Denrim to go check up on her and to keep it discrete. Though chance are Ember will be far away from Tenguard so that probably won’t happen unless Denrim does something that gets him sent to a patrol unit.
I wonder who will we be following next? Bernin or maybe Cole? I wonder what their reaction to what Bernin has to say about his family, and since they’ve been relieved of their patrol duties for the time being what is the Tennin military going to do with them? Maybe assign a new member to replace Gale so they can resume their duties? Or perhaps officiate Bernin into the groups service without assigning a new member as that would balance out the books in terms of the unit strength; since Bernin isn’t officially with them and may be omitted in the patrol members.
Cole on the other hand we haven’t heard from him in a long time, and seeing Veera and others in her bloodline go to test Bernin and probably Ember in the near future see if the Memeelis line has weaken Cole must have failed expectations back at home. Either by him resisting Flint, or he just isn’t very strong at all.
I really like the dynamic these two have, this was a fun arc to watch!
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it!
Now I’m curious what a ‘dress’ curse is…
Indeed! Probably something embarrassing, Heehee
Is the dress curse an invisible dress, like the one that one king had?
