Bloodline 238
At least Denrim has a great smile.
A little reminder, Bloodline has a Discord channel! [Link]
And for those who haven’t heard, Project Wonderful, the company that’s been supplying the ads for my site, has shut down. A long time ago I had debated whether or not I wanted to use ads to begin with, but I settled on PW because the ads were non-intrusive, supported Bloodline, and in the past they’ve led me to some great webcomics. But with PW gone, I can’t offer safe, relevant ads anymore, so I’ll be replacing them with my own Bloodline Ads and artwork.
Also this means that voting for Bloodline on TopWebComics is more important than ever to help bring in new readers! The button labeled “TopWebComics” at the top right leads straight to the voting page for Bloodline for your convenience. You can vote once a day, and I try to keep a regular flow of art incentives on the site to keep things interesting! [Link]
Thanks for your help, and enjoy today’s page!
And now I want to know his answer so badly that I have a strong compulsion to beg you to do another update, BEFORE next week.
I know you’re not going to but I kinda wish you could.
Webcomics, the art of releasing weekly cliffhangers!
Me: “Uh oh Ember is about to be captured” Continues to get extremely excited then it ends and I actually walk off a cliff saying: “Gosh dang it w0lfmare!!!!!!!” (Also thanks for the discord link clicking right now.
Hmmm, I wonder what we can tell from the appearance of magic. Back in the 150s we see Veera’s magic. It is purple and black and likes jagged splotchy tendrils with pointed tips. This is pink and purple and likes jagged compound tendrils with pointed tips. We heard from the doctors that Veera mixed death and shadow, so two colours might indicate that, rather than just being for contrast. With the death god gone, maybe death magic isn’t taboo? Otherwise I assume that it is more complicated than just “purple = death”…
I can’t imagine that Denrim is half the wizard that Veera is, so presumably these tendrils are somehow weak? Or Veera was being stymied by all her antimagic and personal buffs?
I am assuming Ken and Mence has sectioned off this area, and are busy keeping civilians away so Denrim can do whatever he has planning without interruption. Though the librarian is probably watching at a distance; if not out of curiosity, then to make sure the book Ember took with her is safe and they don’t make a mess at the doorstep of the library.
Though I wonder since civilians already saw Denrim harassing on Ember, how fast does gossip fly through the city? Others must be talking about how Denrim is harassing a blue Sarladar that is a reader. There isn’t any other blue Sarlandar so either some of the more respectable guardsman might actually start looking for Ember to peacefully detain her from Elane’s request and get Denrim away, or Elane will pick up on what Denrim is doing and intervene as she wants Ember detained not tortured.
I feel like Denrim is just toying with Ember. Considering he waited for Ember to dispel his curse first he might have set this up just to see if Ember can escape this predicament. Then he’ll just place a stronger curse/obstacle to see if Ember can dispel/escape it. He probably wants to see how many curses/obstacles Ember can escape until she is completely exhausted or if she hits one she cannot overcome.
Ples no hurt the book worm ;-;
“Oh, no, I’m not taking you to Elane. I know some… relatives who want to meet you.”
I feel like he’s a spy, and is actually going to (try) to take her to Veera or the like…
I get the same vibe as that.
